HISTORY OF THE SPORT

K9 Nosework's first official trial was in January of 2009 by the NACSW. (National Association of Canine Scentwork) Creating enrichment for the dogs, and creating the human animal bond is the main reason for the sport. It grew in popularity and UKC started their own trials and then AKC. All the venues use essential oils as the target odor.

HOW I GOT MY START

My name is Paula King and back in 2012, I decided to try a new sport for dogs called Nosework. I was hooked. Then I knew I had to teach others about this great thing that your dog can do, so I became a CNWI. (Certified Nosework Instructor) I love watching dogs figure out odor problems and helping my students understand what their dogs are telling them. My first dog Duncan got me started and then along came Cole. Never in my life has one dog taught me so much! Please come and join me for classes to have fun with your dog!
